A Different Kind of Creative Space
The Making Place gives young people aged 10-18, access to real studio equipment, creative support and small-group mentoring in a space designed to feel professional, welcoming and safe.We are currently piloting the project in Bath, with the aim of developing into a Community Interest Company as the provision grows.
Our Purpose
The Making Place is a community-focused creative studio project for young people in Bath. We use music production, recording, podcasting and creative media to support confidence, skills and self-expression in a safe, welcoming environment.
We aim to:
-
help young people build confidence and express themselves creatively
-
provide access to real studio equipment, software and creative support
-
offer small, supportive groups where young people can develop at their own pace
-
reduce financial barriers through subsidised places where funding allows
What We Offer
The Making Place is a creative arts provision, where young people aged 10–18 can develop real skills in music, media and digital production.
Sessions are designed to be hands-on, project-based and tailored to each young person — whether they’re just starting out or already creating their own work.

Creative Programmes & Courses
Small group courses where young people learn and create using real studio equipment. Sessions are project-based, with clear progression from beginner to advanced levels.

Workshops & Short Sessions
Workshops and short sessions for young people who want to explore creative areas without committing to a longer programme.

Arts Award
Young people can work towards Bronze and Silver Arts Award alongside their creative projects, building a recognised portfolio of work.

1-1 Mentoring
Personalised sessions for those who want to develop their skills further, work on specific projects or receive tailored support.

Targeted Provision
Supportive sessions for young people who may not thrive in traditional settings, including home-educated learners and those needing a smaller, more flexible environment.
